Working in private practice can mean holding safeguarding concerns alone, navigating uncertainty around risk, thresholds, and next steps without the support structures often found within organisations. I offer safeguarding consultation and advisory support for therapists, counsellors, and practitioners who want clear, grounded guidance when working with children, young people, and vulnerable adults. My approach is trauma-informed, neuroaffirming, and rooted in real-world safeguarding experience. With a background that includes crisis work and an in-depth understanding of multi-agency pathways such as MASH, Early Help, and risk management processes, I support practitioners to make confident, ethical, and proportionate decisions. This service provides a space to pause, reflect, and think clearly about what you are holding. You may be unsure whether a concern meets threshold, questioning whether to escalate, or needing support with how to record or communicate concerns appropriately. Through consultation, we can explore this together helping you move from uncertainty to clarity, without feeling alone in your decision-making. Safeguarding consultation can support with: Understanding thresholds (Early Help, MASH, or emergency response) Talking through concerns in a safe, anonymised way Clarifying appropriate next steps Language and structure for referrals or record-keeping Reducing doubt and strengthening professional confidence Alongside consultation, I also offer bespoke safeguarding policies and documentation tailored to your practice. This includes safeguarding policies, confidentiality and information-sharing statements, consent wording, and practical templates to support safe and consistent working. For those establishing or developing private practice, a safeguarding setup package is available. This provides a clear, structured foundation so you are not left trying to piece together processes, alone. It is important to be clear that this is an advisory service. You remain responsible for your own clinical decisions, record-keeping, and any safeguarding actions taken. This service does not replace supervision, legal advice, or statutory safeguarding responsibilities. Instead, it offers an additional layer of professional support, helping you feel more confident, informed, and resourced in your work. This service is particularly suited to: Counsellors and therapists in private practice EFT and holistic practitioners Those working with children, young people, or families Newly qualified practitioners building independent practice Safeguarding work can feel heavy when carried in isolation. Having a space to think, reflect, and sense-check your decisions can make a meaningful difference not only to your confidence, but to the safety and wellbeing of those you support. If you would like to access safeguarding consultation or discuss how this support could work for you, please get in touch. Safeguarding consultation is provided as guidance only. Practitioners remain fully responsible for their own clinical decisions, record-keeping, and any safeguarding actions taken. This service does not replace supervision, legal advice, or statutory safeguarding protocol.
