TAP into calm™ Emotional Regulation Programme is a structured, community-based programme that supports families to better understand and manage emotions using Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as tapping.

Tapping is a simple, body-based technique that involves gently tapping on specific points on the face and upper body while focusing on thoughts or feelings.
This helps to calm the nervous system, reduce emotional intensity, and create a sense of safety in the body.
Within the project, families are guided step-by-step to:
Understand how the nervous system responds to stress and overwhelm
Learn practical tapping techniques to regulate emotions in real time
Build confidence in managing anxiety, frustration, and big feelings
Improve communication and connection within the family
Develop tools they can continue to use at home

Sessions are delivered in a trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and supportive environment, meaning there is no pressure to share, no expectation to “perform,” and each family is supported to engage.

The project is designed for both children and parents to attend together, recognising that emotional regulation works best when it is understood and supported across the whole family system.
Led by an Accredited EFT Practitioner, the programme ensures that families are learning techniques that are safe, structured, and grounded in professional practice.
